Genuine Subaru replacement O-ring seal for the gudgeon pin blanking plate fitted to Subaru EJ-series engines.

The O-ring sits on the left-hand rear side of the engine block, behind the flywheel assembly, and forms the oil-tight seal between the block and the metal gudgeon pin access/blanking plate.

Because of its location, replacement normally requires removing the flywheel or flexplate assembly. It is strongly recommended to replace this seal whenever the blanking plate is removed, particularly during an engine rebuild, a clutch/flywheel replacement or when investigating an oil leak from the rear of the engine.

Over time, the original O-ring can harden and lose elasticity through age and repeated heat cycles, which can let engine oil seep past the blanking plate.
