Stage X High Grip Bracket & Genuine Subaru Timing Belt

The High Grip tensioner system was developed to solve the problem of timing belts bouncing and skipping teeth at high rpm, which can have catastrophic results.

Race and rally teams have preferred the original 2-piece tensioner system for many years, as it is more reliable than the later single-piece tensioner. Its disadvantage is that it has no small idler bearing to reduce belt bounce and flex.

The solution is a completely bespoke billet aluminium bracket that uses the original tensioner and incorporates the later 2002+ small idler bearing.

This kit is for cars with the later-style system in place. It replaces the whole bracket, hydraulic tensioner and tensioner bearing, along with the small idler bearing and all bearings on the timing belt assembly, and includes a genuine Subaru timing belt.
